More from the factory!

I recently received a few new photos from the factory in Denmark. Photo credit to Kristine at Quorning for snapping shots to keep me informed. Orizuru is really starting to look like a real trimaran now! I’m planning a trip to see her in March, by which time she’ll be almost finished. Very excited!

In other news, Dragonfly has plans to exhibit my boat at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September. We look forward to seeing some of our friends there. After Cannes we plan to sail south to Valencia, making stops along the way in Southern France and Catalonia, and maybe the Balearics. So much to explore in the Mediterranean, I’m sure we will have a great time.

From the back

There are hatches in the back of the floats for water toys.

The trampolines are in place waiting to be tensioned up.

Port side too

With the floats extended she’s over 8 meters wide.

Cabintop

Above the companionway there is a chart plotter and two displays. Beyond that you can see the rooftop air conditioning unit.

Main Cabin

Looking forward. Galley to port, nav station to starboard. The salon table in the center. is also the centerboard trunk. When the centerboard is down the draft is 2.2 meters, but when it's up it’s only 70 centimeters, allowing access to very shallow areas for anchoring, and even beaching the boat.

Aft Cabin

The aft cabin is under the cockpit sole.

Forward

Forward of the main bulkhead is the v-berth, which is where guests will stay.

Main cabin

Looking aft. You can see the Carbon fiber compression post covered in protective tape, which takes the downward forces of the deck stepped mast. Also the centerboard control lines run up through here to the deck.
